 ARTIST'S STATEMENT

My jewelry is about making connections. I want my jewelry to speak to you and connect with you on an emotional level. I want to help you celebrate family and friendships; memorialize special people who have passed on; remind you of essential affirmations.... I want to make jewelry that has special meaning to you.

But it's not always about actual words. The beauty we are drawn to through texture, shape, and color can make us feel good about ourselves and celebrate our relationships as well. Above all, I want you to wear something beautiful and feel beautiful about yourself.

HOW SHE STARTED

I started making jewelry in the fall of 2006 when my daughter broke a stretchy bracelet, and I bought some supplies to fix it for her. Within a month, I had a business license, was doing a fundraiser for the PTA, appeared briefly on television, and was a vendor at a craft fair. I beaded for a couple of years, took a little time off, and then discovered metal working -- a medium of true inspiration! I started blogging in 2010 as Crow Steals Fire.

In 2011, I launched the business, trademark, and appellation "Crow Steals Fire" to represent my new direction and passion.
